What's this site?

This is a tool to gauge community sentiment about the latest NSG banlist. You can think of it a bit like opinion polling, but for netrunner cards. Vote on the cards you think should be banned or unbanned, and see how the community feels about them.

Is this an official banlist? Are you affiliated with Null Signal Games in any way?

Can I use these rankings to be a jerk to the Standard Balance Team folks?

No.

1. You're voting on these cards in isolation, whereas the NSG folks are considering a list as a whole, along with a vision about how the game should look. It's a fundamentally different approach which is obviously going to produce fundamentally different results.
2. They're a group of volunteers who donate their time to the community to try to keep the meta healthy. They're also really nice people. Don't be a jerk to them.

Isn't this just a ripoff of Trash or Busto?

Well, kind of.

It was definitely an inspiration, but I think busto-ness and ban-ability are fundamentally different things. At time of writing, for example, Spin Doctor is listed as more busto than a number of cards on the NSG banlist e.g. Keeling, Nanisivik, Cyberdex Sandbox. Boomerang is more busto than Bukhgalter. I don't think it's controvertial to imagine that Keeling should be banned and Spindo should not. But maybe the votes will disagree...

How does this site use cookies?

This site sets a single simple cookie to track your voting history. You're assigned a random user ID stored in a cookie when you visit the site, and your votes are associated with that ID. This is what allows the site to present you with a banner that says "You've already voted on this card!" when you try to vote for it again.

I'm not doing anything nefarious with it like selling your netrunner card voting record to advertisers or anything like that. I don't have a way to map user ID to your real identity either.

I found a way to cheat the system and vote multiple times for the same card!

This is definitely not a scientifically accurate poll. If you're really determined to vote for the same card multiple times, you can use a different browser or device to vote, or use an incognito window, or clear your cookies, or whatever. But don't you have better things to do?

Why does your site say that card X should be banned/unbanned? That's ridiculous!

Some people just have really bad opinions about netrunner.
